Baby Blessings Preschool Info July 2017
Dear parents,
A very big, warm welcome back to all of our children at the beginning of our third term! It is wonderful to see them all again and we look forward to an exciting term together! They all seem to have grown taller in the 3 weeks they have been away! To those who went away on holiday, we trust you enjoyed the break!
Important date to diarise:
This coming Wednesday the 26th July, the photographer will be coming to take photos of the children during the school morning. Should Wednesday not be a day that your child attends school, you are welcome to speak to your child’s teacher to arrange a time to bring him/her in for the photoshoot.
*As we are at the start of our winter term, we ask that all parents please make themselves familiar with our Sick Child Policy at Baby Blessings, which is printed below. In order to keep our children healthy during this term, it is vital for all parents to adhere to our policy as it takes only one child with germs to pass them on to a whole class!
As infections and illnesses are easily transmitted from one child to another in a school environment, we do not allow sick children to attend school.
Please DO NOT send your child to school if he/she is:
1) Running a fever
2) Vomiting or has diarrhoea
3) Coughing excessively
4) Has a green nose, which is contagious
5) Has Conjunctivitis or an eye infection
*If your child has had a temperature/ or vomiting/ or diarrhoea during the night, please will you keep him/her at home the following day, rather than give medication in the morning and send him/her to school. Not only do the germs spread to the other children, but the medication wears off and then your little one is miserable and not up to a day at school.
*If your child has been to the doctor, please will you kindly ask for a doctor’s note as to when you child should be able to return to school and hand this to your child’s class teacher when your little one returns. We also require a letter from the doctor should you be told that your child has a specific allergy and that is why he/she has an incessant cough or thick nose.
*If the doctor has prescribed a course of antibiotics for your child, please will you keep your little one home for at least two days after starting the medication, and bring a doctor’s letter when he/she returns to school. Should your child arrive at school sick, or show signs of any illness during the course of the school morning, you will be contacted to collect your child from school.
Please moms and dads, we ask for your support in this area, as it is in the best interest of YOUR child, as well as the other children and teachers in our school.
From our side, our toys are washed continuously, and in the baby class, often on a daily basis!
We will be sending home a form in your child’s bag, and have included an attachment to this mail, for you to complete to update your personal info, such as cell numbers, who is authorised to collect your child etc. These details are vital should we need to get hold of you in an emergency. Please can we ask that all forms be returned by tomorrow.
With winter upon us, we would like to appeal to anyone who would like to support Teacher Zhanelle in her venture to help the animals from:
PETS-Pet empowerment in townships.
This is a registered non profit animal rescue organisation. They work to improve the lives of disadvantaged animals, by giving them daily meals, warm shelter, regular innoculations, sterilisation and vet care in emergencies.
They also re-home those that are unwanted, unloved or lost. They try to instil in the community, a responsibility and pride for their animals, by not just providing for the animals, but by also educating the people themselves to take care of their own pets.
For anyone who may be interested in donating to this worthy cause, any of the following items would be most welcome! We will have a collection box for PETS at the school gate.
* Blankets, dog and cat food, collars, dog jerseys, kennels, dog/cat beds/bowls
Well, that is all for today! Take care and enjoy the day, for: “This is the day that the Lord has made, We will rejoice and be glad in it”.
Kind Regards
Anne & Chantal
