Meet our Team
It is our pleasure to welcome you to Baby Blessings Preschool and Playgroup, and we hope that your tour of our website will be warm and welcoming!
Anne and Chantal, a mother and daughter team, are the proud owners of Baby Blessings, a fully registered, Christian based Preschool and Playgroup in Lonehill near Fourways, where we strongly believe that “Children are precious, a gift from above”. We strive always to “Guide them and teach them, and bless them with love.” We first opened our doors in January 2005, as a small and intimate playgroup, and have since expanded to include our 3 senior preschool classes.
With a combined 27 years of experience in the childcare industry, we are committed to focusing on each child’s individual needs, and at all times providing a personal and professional service to our parents.
Our team of Teachers:
Teacher Benita – Our School Manageress.
My name is Benita, and I am the class teacher for the 2 – 3 year old children here at Baby Blessings Preschool and Playgroup. Graduating from Bella Alexandra Nursing College with a Diploma” in General Nursing and Midwifery, provided me with extensive experience in both the Private and Government Hospitals on a senior level. I then went on to study and obtained a Diploma in Community Nursing at Wits University. This was followed by a Degree in Administration and Education at UNISA.
After the birth of my two children, I opened up my own Parent and Child Centre and Nursery School, specialising in antenatal, and postnatal classes, a well baby clinic, as well as a crèche for 0 – 3 year old children. In addition to the existing children at the school, I also had the opportunity of working with several special needs children, referred by paediatricians in the area.
Eight years later, I retired to spend more time with my children, and in 2010, I joined Baby Blessings.
After a wonderful and rewarding 35 years of working with babies and children, I continue to embrace my passion for educating the holistic child, focusing on the social, emotional, physical and cognitive aspects of each child.
My aim: “To ensure that the children leaving my care are confident, secure and able to cope with any learning environment they might find themselves in.”
Being the eldest of 3 children and the eldest of 8 grandchildren, it was inevitable I’d grow up with a love, understanding and patience for children. I come from a Christian based school, where I was teaching the 1-2 year old class whilst still studying.
I am currently in my final year of studies and will be graduating as an Early Childhood Development Teacher. I feel very strongly about instilling independence in young children and love to help them help themselves. I think teaching is definitely an occupation you need to be passionate about and give your all, as, if you follow your passion, you are bound to be led into your purpose.
I am so excited to feed your little ones with as much knowledge, guidance, love and security as possible!
I am married with two beautiful grown up daughters, and have a BA degree in English and Psychology, and a diploma in Preschool Teaching. I have taught the Grade 00 age group for 5 years, and was also the principal at a small Preschool for 2 years.
Look forward to meeting you!
Hi everybody! My name is teacher Christa and I am so excited to be part of this team of Mom’s, Dad’s, teachers, assistants and of course most importantly the children.
I matriculated in 2009 and thereafter started my Bachelor of Education degree (ECD and Foundation Phase) at UNISA. Whilst I was studying in 2010, I worked at the Trinity House aftercare, and then au paired for two years for a family with 2 young boys. After graduating at the end of 2013, I started working at Buccleuch Primary school teaching Grade R’s for 3 years, and continued on to teach the Grade 3’s in 2017. I am also currently busy with the last year of my honours degree in teaching, specialising in Early Childhood and Foundation Phase.
My love for children is endless and I have an absolute passion for children. It truly amazes me how much each child develops emotionally, spiritually, socially, mentally and physically at their own pace in just the space of one year. And that is why I can say teaching IS the most rewarding career!

The Child Care & Preschool Teacher Poem
Although I am not their parent, I care for them each day.
I cuddle, sing & read to them. And watch them as they play.
I see each new accomplishment And help them grow and learn.
They come to me for comfort. I soothe away their tears.
They proudly show their work to me. I give the loudest cheers.
No, I am not their parent, But my role is just as strong.
I know some day the time will come, When we may have to part.
But I know each child I have cared for, Is forever in my heart.
